Today is my mother's birthday. She was an amazing singer. When I was playing in the sand and water at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, MA with my friends. I remember when she used to call me from one side of the beach...  I could hear her lovely sweet soprano voice from anywhere across the huge beach, and I was embarrassed, thinking that everyone would think that my mother was calling me.  Then I realized, that no one knew for whom the "yoo who" was calling....  suddenly, the lovely melody was just for me and her. By clicking the red button below you can hear her performance of Paratum cor meum, by Heinrich Schütz, performed by my mother,  Janet Wheeler, soprano with The Telemann Society chorus and orchestra under Richard Schultze.
Happy Birthday, Mom; I love you, Dave.
