THE LILY from Six Songs to Poems by William Blake by David Edgar Walther, sung by the composer with Dr. Sam Walter, pianist. Here poste to celebrate the birthday of my dear friend, Haig Nalbantian.
Haig & I met when I was 5 & he was 4. It was raining, & he wore a light blue rain coat. Years later he gave me a hard back collection of poems by William Blake & I used it to write the 6 songs. Haig's son, Stepan, is now two years old. One day I hope he will find his own way to enjoy these wonderful poems. Over the next 5 days, we will post these 6 Blake songs, as sung by Susan Craft Larson with pianist Yelana Birayeva. Happy birthday, Haig.
