"Wotan's Farewell" from "Die Walküre"  by Richard Wagner. Wotan (bass-baritone, David Edgar Walther) says goodbye to his favorite daughter: Brünnhilde; and places her behind a wall of fire where she will be safe. So we must place our sacred democracy where it will be protected from fascism: anti-semetism; racism, those who would limt LGBTQ rights, free speech; freedom of religion; and the right to vote, as well as the right of women to choose their own destinies. May we never have to say farewell to our sacred democracy. Instead we must always protect her. Vanessa Schukis is Brünnhilde; Carol Millard is Loge; The pianist is Shu'ann Chai with The Acting Singers Project.
