Program notes: Cloud Blue is a depiction of the clouds featured in the back ground of Renaissance paintings. It was written in 1972, when I was studying with Vincent Persichetti in my first year at Juilliard. The next year (1973) The Juilliard Concert String Orchestra performed the piece under Thomas Ludwig.
